Anastasia Telesetsky

Anastasia Telesetsky is a professor of environmental law at California State Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo.


She is a member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s World Commission of Environmental Law and the Society for Ecological Restoration’s legal team on designing national laws to implement the UN’s Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.

Anastasia is the author of numerous books, chapters, and journal articles on disaster risk reduction, fisheries and ocean governance law, food security law, and ecological restoration law. She is a former Fulbright Fellow to the Philippines where she researched the implementation of the Indigenous Peoples' Rights Act and a Bosch Fellow where she collaborated on drafting guidelines for the progressive implementation of the right to food. She has appeared as a legal representative on behalf of observers to the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea and parties before the Permanent Court of Arbitration.
