Legal Fellowships

If you are a junior lawyer, a law student or a recent graduate you can apply for our Legal Fellowship Programme. We select legal fellows every four months to work with us on client cases, projects, and research.

A Legal Fellowship at ILP provides a great opportunity for someone who is interested in gaining experience in the NGO sector, knowledge and awareness of the issues facing our partners, developing their research and client skills, and getting exposed to how lawyers can engage in international pro bono work.

How to Apply

Follow us on Twitter and Linkedin to be the first to hear when applications are open - we seek applicants at least three times per year.

When I applied for this internship I was excited to learn about how laws and policies interact in the international sphere. I was also excited about the possibility of mentorship from seasoned professionals within the organisation.

During my time at ILP, I have improved my research and analytical skills. Thanks to my supervisor, I also participated in capacity building activities that taught me presentation and communication skills. I assisted my supervisor by preparing a policy brief for publication.

I am grateful for the opportunity for this exposure, professional growth and development. I have now been offered a permanent job with an American international development organisation.
