Legal Fellowships

If you are a junior lawyer or law graduate (1-3  years post graduation) you can apply for our Legal Fellowship Programme. We are recruiting a legal fellow for a 12 month fixed term starting on 2 September 2024, to work with us on client cases, projects, and research.

A Legal Fellowship at ILP provides a great opportunity for someone who is interested in gaining experience in the NGO sector, knowledge and awareness of the issues facing our partners, developing their research and client skills, and getting exposed to how lawyers can engage in international pro bono work.

We are open to sponsoring a UK visa application for an exceptional candidate.

How to apply

For more information or to apply please download the job description using the link below.

Applications should be submitted to by EOD Sunday 14 July 2024. Interviews are likely to take place during the week of 23 July 2024.

When I applied for this internship I was excited to learn about how laws and policies interact in the international sphere. I was also excited about the possibility of mentorship from seasoned professionals within the organisation.

During my time at ILP, I have improved my research and analytical skills. Thanks to my supervisor, I also participated in capacity building activities that taught me presentation and communication skills. I assisted my supervisor by preparing a policy brief for publication.

I am grateful for the opportunity for this exposure, professional growth and development. I have now been offered a permanent job with an American international development organisation.
