Gabriel is an anti-corruption and transparency expert with over two decades of experience in civil society organizations. At ILP, he serves as a Senior Legal Manager, facilitating connections between pro bono lawyers and clients committed to strengthening the rule of law around the world.
Before joining ILP, he was the Anti-Corruption Coordinator at TRAFFIC in Cambridge, UK, where he led global initiatives to embed anti-corruption strategies into efforts combating wildlife trafficking across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Previously, Gabriel spent over a decade as Executive Director of Transparency International Slovakia (2009–2021), where he led innovative, high-impact initiatives in open justice, public procurement, healthcare, local government, and state-owned enterprises. He continues to be driven by a belief in open data’s potential to empower citizens and promote accountability. Earlier in his career, he worked as an analyst at INEKO, a leading Slovak think tank, where he launched one of the country's first fact-checking blogs and contributed to public discourse on economic reform.
Gabriel’s contributions to journalism and transparency in Slovakia have earned him two national journalism awards. He also served as a trustee of the country’s largest public health insurer during the late 2010s.
He holds degrees in Political Science and Transition Economics from Central European University, Budapest, Hungary.
