Operations Manager (Maternity Cover)

Louise is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales (non-practicing) and spent more than a decade working as a commercial litigator in Manchester and London.  Louise has always been passionate about using the law for those most in need and has provided pro bono and other voluntary support to many charities.  Following a career break to raise her family, Louise decided to transition into the non-profit sector.  


Louise has held a number of roles in the charity sector including managing the Lawyers Against Poverty (LAP) project on behalf of Oxfam.  LAP enables lawyers and student lawyers to utilise their legal skills, knowledge and donations to support projects aimed at eradicating poverty both in the UK and overseas.  In 2020 LAP was established as an independent charity where Louise is now a trustee.  


Before joining ILP, Louise was Publicity & Fundraising Manager at Citizens Advice Epsom & Ewell.  In addition to managing the publicity and fundraising team, she established and managed the charity’s Financial Literacy Project which provided free financial literacy education across numerous sixth forms, projected to reach (in 2024/25) over 1000 young people. 


Louise attained her LLB at Cardiff University and also holds an LLM from Reading University and a Psychology Diploma from Winchester University.  She remains on the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales.
